The picture above is of seal-bay
near where I walk Tessa daily.
The waves in today's bay ripple
almost unseen,
like moving shadows or milky
ruffles of cream,
gliding like snakes under duvets
of billowing green
patching its face in smoky grey
an unwary sea
reacts to surge of the tidal sway
by drowning all breeze
but before calm blows it away
wind plays with mischief
by birthing miniscule wavelets
where play schools of seals.
