Bound in sand to ever move and to turn
Each stung by wild wind with wisdom to learn,
Two trees stark against a blood sunset sky
Sway and bend like a baby’s rock-a-bye.
They stretch into a star studded skyscape
As sea forms a wind whirled mystical drape,
Enfolding their limbs with a shawl of love
Their pairing fated by the source above.
Waves smash and crash doomed quicksand below
As stark shadowy dunes move and then grow.
Sea swells and abates in an endless quest,
the give and take of a partnership test.
Each tree sinks down to the approaching night
Yet, responsive to the other tree’s light,
To search and discover the others needs
And cosset and calm when one tree sap bleeds.
But when these two trees reach their lofty climb
To twice splice the changing storm clouds of time.
Nature's spirits connect their sacred test
As trunks bend as one, their union blessed.
