Did you know ‘twas your vellum page stole me
amidst the beauty of your written word?
I swooned at every line ‘bout moon and sea
and every verse sang sweetly like a bird.
In pleasing ways you took me to your soul
and filled my mind with images of love
they reached inside and then you softly stole
my heart away led by your gentle glove.
With pen and ink you charmed this lady fair
and page by page each wondrous poem just kissed
her soul and bound it close to always share
the knowing that two souls as one exist.
Oh poet man, you charmed me on that page
such words you wrote my heart to sweet engage
