When I survey this world amid'st it's blight,
with famine, storms and threats of global war;
Are we descending unto final night?
I must do more then view this from afar.
No longer do we know the wrong from right,
we're drowning in a world of greed and lust;
Can we no longer see the blessed light
and strive to gain a brotherhood of trust?
With providence so seldom in our sight,
we seek the light in many myriad ways;
For freedom from this world's embittered plight.
we struggle in our search for brighter days.
My time is spent, my pen won't spare this plight,
but hope and faith e'er spur my need to write.
A plea for the brotherhood of all mankind.
