Until When.

You and I, long ago, unfastened the bodice
of stiff convention, trod
down high fences of weathered traditions
as we galloped bare-back
on imagined kisses.
We stole a march on time's unfelt attack,
found nectar through holes
in establishment's barriers, flung sadness
aside and laughingly sipped
the boundless sweetness.
We feasted needs on what was forbidden,
exposed as false fate's
gloomy predictions severed restrictions
and willingly boarded this
ship to love's destiny.
Fused into one you and I uncaged ageless
contentment that given
free rein seized and bent under-used aids
for pleasure and no death
shall our union end.
Repletion once gained produces a peace
and somewhere resting
is the passion we stirred as in repeated
vows to breast separation
patiently until when
we
meet
again.
