Is it an awful thing this growing old?

“I grow with my years
still learning with each new day
I am a student.”

What kind of things do you now learn about?

“I learn more patience
that helps me to see clearly
and understand more.”

Please tell me of the things that you study?

“I look at the stars
in a different way now
and i am in awe.”

Is that the only thing that you study?

“Oh no i study
mother nature even more
and i cry for her.”

Why do you cry my friend it seems so strange?

“When you are old too
you will cry because like me
you will learn to love.”

Why do you think i do not know of love?

“Not love of others
but yourself and who you are
and the part you play.”

What part do you think i play in this love?

“You’re a young student
you have to grow with your years
and have patience.”

This is superb penning and the challenge you took is presented with wisdom and sensitivity. You have set a really high standard for others to follow and I love the form Tom has creatively created. Kudos to you Stella as I can see Tom is really impressed with your first Pentaiku poem!
