Animal Passion

I remember the rush
Lunging lustful crush
Of primal animal instinct
Like a young lion thirsting for his prey
It's a time of frenzied yearning
Devouring youth in an ambush
Older now and know.
How much I missed in the rush
Now is time to slow
And feed our vices.
No raw meat but nicely done
Slowly with hand rubbed spices
Exploring all the cuts across the grill
Slowly turning to complete the meal.
Proving the fires of lust are not enough
Heat alone cannot make it real
Years turn youths fires.
Into the warm loving hearth
A place to tend the desires
And let love give birth
