Most of All (a ballade)

In many ways you gave me grace
to be the best that I could be.
You helped me grow within my space
to see I had a destiny.
There were no chains love set me free
from things I could not reconcile
I loved the strength that gave to me,
but most of all I loved your smile.

Those special days I still embrace
I am sure they were meant to be,
and cherished thoughts I can re-trace
that will last through eternity.
Only you could have turned the key
to open something so fragile,
I loved you then quite thankfully
but most of all I loved your smile.

You always hold a special place
so precious in my memory,
and oft’ I see your lovely face
still smiling, happy, and carefree.
My heart and I won’t disagree
how we loved you for just a while,
perhaps it was in fantasy?
But most of all I loved your smile.

I think of you so pleasantly
sometimes my soul you still beguile;
I think I loved you endlessly
but most of all I loved your smile.
