Dark fast erupts with decisive lust,
locks in sky-bound eyesight
between banks of cloud.
and blocks all sight of the sun.
Dusk in-folds twilight's early hold,
attacks any last view
of home-coming bird flight
and wraps shadows in used gold.
Night awakens and strikes daylight,
cuts late evening shine from
sunset's nocturnal edge
and shuts darkness in, tightly.
Love lost between them, what wins
then is coming blackness
but when daylight comes back
sun's smile will melt any held mist.
